A UK IT reseller contacted Computer Security & Solutions with a project for a new customer; not having an account with a manufacturer would normally raise several issues, however Computer Security & Solutions worked with the Reseller to ensure their new customer got the solution they needed and were happy in the limited time frame available, as they needed the computer enclosures on site before Christmas and this was the 2^nd week in December!

CSS realised when they looked at the digital signage market, their is a huge demand for protection of LCD and Plasma displays, as many of the digital signage solution providers install these displays in areas that are not ideal, such as in public access areas, on factory floors or even outside in all weathers.

They looked at the market and designed a special enclosure that accommodates all LCD and Plasma displays from 23″ up to 60″, the units protect to IP66 (European standards) and NEMA 4 (USA standards), enabling the digital signs to be installed outside in snow, rain and direct sunlight. The enclosures can be configured so that they create a video wall the full size of the side of a building, if needed.

The enclosures can be cooled or heated depending upon the application, no more restrictions on were you can install digital signage. CSS recently undertook a project for installing Digital Advertising for the Croatian Tourist Authority, the units needed cooling as they would be in direct sunlight and would reach an internal temperature of 125 degrees, this coupled with the sun’s glare on the front of the enclosure.

The solution was to install a special cooling device that was configured via wireless technology providing the optimum internal working temperature. Then the front of the enclosure with the anti vandal viewing screen was coated with an anti glare film, similar to the units on cock pit windows, ensuring that even in the strongest sun light, the display could be seen perfectly.

Digital signage is everywhere, there is no escape, the reason for this is due to it being so cost effective and flexible, almost anyone can create media content, once they have the content just send it via the Internet direct to the display and it’s running live.
